Tar Heel Ants new design, "Aerie Foraging Area", attempts to maximize the space within each container for ants to explore and provide additional perches for feeding.  This tiered foraging area also aims to limit the amount of ants focused on climbing the sides of the foraging area to escape during their search for food and your maintenance efforts.  One removable vent (exposed opening in the main lid via magnetically removable second lid) is included on the main lid (not shown in photo) for quick access to the elevated perches below for feeding.
